Ever want to learn how to draw? I teach drawing at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, The Forum Art Centre and at Bronx Park, all in Winnipeg.
There are a lot of techniques in drawing, whether that’s drawing from life, or from images or from your imagination.
It doesnt take long to develop a practise in drawing. Next thing you know you’ll be carrying around a sketch book and drawing up a storm.
I use drawing in all aspects of my work and play.
Drawing is good because it enhances creativity, improves observation, and boosts mental and physical well-being. It serves as a form of stress relief, a tool for communication, and a way to improve memory, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination.
Drawing is fun because it provides a therapeutic and creative outlet for self-expression and problem-solving, can induce a meditative “flow state,” and is rewarding through immediate results and the satisfaction of bringing ideas to life. Experimenting with different materials and mark-making techniques also adds an element of discovery.
